Family Holiday Turns Tragic as Couple Dies, Two Children Injured in Gua Musang Crash

KUALA LUMPUR — A family’s trip to Kota Baru ended in tragedy early this morning when a crash on the Gua Musang-Kuala Krai road in Kelantan claimed the lives of a couple and left their two children injured.

The accident occurred around 1 am when the Perodua Myvi, driven by 25-year-old Muhammad Syamie Farhan Adnan, collided with a trailer after he lost control of the car on a bend. His wife, 26-year-old Nurul Syafika Anis Zulkifli, died at the scene, along with him. Their two children, a 10-month-old girl and a 5-year-old boy, sustained abdominal injuries.

Nurul Syafika’s brother, Mohamad Hasbi, had warned the family about an overturned trailer earlier in the day, but he never expected the tragic outcome.

Initial investigations suggest that the Myvi veered into the opposite lane, colliding with the trailer, which caused it to overturn. The family’s car also skidded off the road.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
