Sabah CM Hajiji Welcomes RM25M Federal Aid for Flood Recovery

KOTA KINABALU — Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has welcomed the RM25 million federal aid announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, calling it essential for rebuilding flood-damaged infrastructure and supporting affected families. The allocation includes RM1,000 for each impacted family.

Hajiji expressed gratitude for the immediate assistance, which he said would ease the hardship of flood victims in the state. As of yesterday, 5,162 individuals from 1,789 families remained affected, with 34 temporary relief centres still operational.

In preparation for the upcoming northeast monsoon, the state government has mobilized over 14,000 personnel and arranged logistics to assist in future disaster management. Flood victims have expressed relief, with many noting the vital support and swift infrastructure repairs.
