Vijay is currently working on his final film, Janyayan, directed by Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions. The film stars Pooja Hegde as the lead and Bobby Deol as the antagonist. Filming is progressing well, with the first phase completed and the next scheduled soon. Initially slated for an October release, the movie may now hit screens during Pongal next year, though no official date has been confirmed.

Keerthana, who starred opposite Vijay in his debut film Naalaiya Theerup, recently shared her thoughts on his retirement. "I’m happy to see Vijay’s growth, but the news of him quitting acting worries me. I had hoped to act with him again," she said in an interview.

The film’s title was initially speculated to be Naalaiya Theerup as a tribute to their first collaboration, but it has been finalized as Janyayan. Despite the buzz, fans are still awaiting an official announcement regarding the film's release.
