KUALA LUMPUR — MCA Youth in Petaling Jaya has called for a police investigation into a dispute with Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Akmal Salleh over the mistranslation of the term "crazy horse." The youth wing believes the phrase was deliberately misinterpreted to mislead the public and falsely accuse the party.

MCA Youth deputy chief Lee Yee Yuan expressed concern that such misinformation could fuel social divisions and threaten harmony. "Misinformation should not be allowed to erode trust in our diverse society," he said.

The controversy began on January 30 when Dr Akmal criticized Johor MCA deputy publicity chief Law Yiak Kwang for using the term ‘癫马’ (crazy horse) on social media. Dr Akmal claimed it was an insult to Malays, while Law argued it was a comment on Dr Akmal's erratic behavior.

Following the dispute, Dr Akmal threatened legal action, prompting MCA vice-president Datuk Tan Teck Cheng to defend Law. The tension escalated with Dr Akmal reminding MCA of its limited support in Malay-majority constituencies.
