PETALING JAYA — The Sessions Court today heard chilling details about the death of a missing six-year-old boy, Zayn Rayyan, whose body was found near a stream close to Idaman Apartment in Damansara Damai.

Cpl Sulaimen Razak, a crime scene photographer, testified that he took photographs of the victim’s body, which showed injuries to his left ear and right hand. He also captured images of the victim wearing a school badge and socks found 500 meters from the scene.

The boy had been reported missing on December 5, 2023, by his mother, Ismanira Abdul Manaf, who claimed he had gone missing while she was carrying things up the stairs. Zayn was autistic and non-verbal. Police later found his body in the stream the following day, with signs suggesting he had been murdered.

The trial involves charges against his parents, Zaim Ikhwan Zahari and Ismanira, for allegedly neglecting their son in a way that led to physical harm. They face charges under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.

An autopsy revealed injuries on Zayn's neck and body, indicating possible self-defense. The trial continues tomorrow before Judge Dr. Syahliza Warnoh.
