KTMB Launches 24-Hour Train Service & Free Rides for Thaipusam, Feb 9-12

KUALA LUMPUR,— In anticipation of the Thaipusam celebrations, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) will run a 24-hour train service from February 9 to 12. This includes free rides on February 10 and 11 for all KTM Komuter stations in the Klang Valley.

The move aims to support the high volume of devotees and visitors traveling during this period. Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that KTMB would add 44 extra trips per day, totaling 140, with 118 additional services across the four days.

Special late-night trains will run from Pulau Sebang and Klang to Batu Caves, with services from KL Sentral running every 30 minutes after 9:30 am.

Authorities are expecting a 10% increase in passengers, with about 500,000 people using the service. To ensure smooth travel, KTMB has upgraded station facilities and will have increased security, including police personnel and additional shuttle buses.

Passengers are encouraged to use valid payment methods like debit, credit, or Touch ‘n Go cards for quicker access.
