KUCHING — Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg announced plans to develop a homegrown AI model called ‘DeepSar,’ inspired by China’s DeepSeek. The AI will focus on local content, enabling digital dialogue between Sarawakians and the world. Abang Johari emphasized the importance of microchip design in data transfer, calling chips the "lifeblood of technology." He also highlighted the potential for Sarawak to showcase its rich biodiversity globally, with the state aiming to secure patents for its resources. Strong digital infrastructure is key to Sarawak’s economic and social growth, he added.
