KLUANG: A 32-year-old woman, eight months pregnant, tragically lost her fetus and later passed away after a car accident on Wednesday.

Siti Aisyah Haron, 32, was driving her Perodua Myvi when she lost control of the car and crashed into a house wall in Kampung Melayu at 2.15pm on Wednesday.

Kluang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh said that Siti Aisyah was travelling with a friend toward Kluang town at the time of the accident.

"Yesterday, around 8pm, the baby was removed after being confirmed dead in the womb," Bahrin said.

"Today, at about 1.59pm, Siti Aisyah passed away while receiving treatment at Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital (HEBHK)."

Bahrin said the cause of death was internal bleeding, including injuries to the pancreas and liver.

A police report on the accident was filed by Siti Aisyah's brother, Ammar, 30, at 4.11pm on Thursday.

Siti Aisyah's friend, 28-year-old real estate agent Siti Aishah Rahimi, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the hospital.

Bahrin added that initial investigations revealed the Perodua Myvi had been moved from the scene before the officers arrived.

"According to the complainant, the vehicle was travelling from Kampung Melayu toward Kluang town when the driver lost control and struck a house wall by the roadside," Bahrin said.

"Both the driver and passenger were taken to HEBHK by ambulance after the incident."

The case is being classified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
