KUALA LUMPUR — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested two more individuals, including the CEO of a publicly listed company, over alleged corruption and false claims involving the misappropriation of RM2.6 million in company funds.
The suspects, a woman in her 40s and a man in his 60s, were detained between 7 PM and 11 PM while giving statements at the MACC headquarters. Preliminary investigations suggest they conspired to submit falsified documents to withdraw RM2.6 million, which was then transferred to an account of the woman’s employer.
The Putrajaya Magistrate's Court granted a four-day remand order for the suspects until February 17. MACC’s investigation is ongoing under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
Earlier, four other individuals, including a Datuk, were arrested in connection with the case. The Datuk is remanded for five days, while the other three suspects, including directors and senior vice presidents, are remanded for four days.
