KUALA LUMPUR: National junior track cycling coach Herman Terryn said that there's more to come from his riders after they kicked off their Asian Cycling Championships (ACC) campaign with a silver medal at the National Velodrome in Nilai today.

The national women's junior team of Nurul Akhma Atiqah Ahmed Haizan, Nur Umairah Qhaisara Zulfikha Razak and Sawda Hasbullah settled for the silver medal after clocking 51.93s in the final.

South Korea's Kim Ji A, Park Ye Been, Park Hyerin snatched the gold after clocking 50.91s.

Taiwan's Liu Hui Li, Liu Shang Ying and Lo Yun Han clocked 53.349s for the bronze.

Terryn's charges had earlier set a new national record with 51.80s in the first round to erase the previous mark of 52.979s set by Azwa Nabila Abdullah, Nyo Ci Hui, and Yong Ann Tung at the 2022 Asian Junior Championships in New Delhi.

"We're happy with the time for sure. We were in the final with a very good Korean team who did 50.9s," said the French coach.
