KUALA LUMPUR: Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul urged MPs to "use their brains" when speaking in Parliament after a heated exchange between Datuk Awang Hashim (PN-Pendang) and RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) on Feb 26. Awang accused DAP of issues related to mining in Kelantan, prompting Rayer to invoke House standing orders. Johari scolded Awang for being emotional, advising him to speak with intellect and restraint. Johari also reprimanded Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim (PN-Arau) for his comments and reiterated that MPs should focus on reasoned debate. The tension escalated when Awang accused Rayer of being anti-Islam.
