KUALA TERENGGANU — The Sessions Court has ordered the case of a woman charged with attempted murder in a crash that injured a UiTM student last year to be transferred to the Kuala Terengganu High Court.

Judge Mohd Zul Zakiqudin Zulkifli granted the request by deputy public prosecutor Nur Nabihah Hanin Ayim to transfer the case of Norizan Ismail, 50, who faces charges under Section 307(1) of the Penal Code.

Norizan, accused of injuring 20-year-old Muhammad Ammar Danish Mohammad Ridhuan in an accident on Oct 9, 2024, along Jalan Pantai, near UiTM Dungun, could face up to 10 years in prison, or up to 20 years if the injury is severe. She is also charged with three counts of murder for causing the deaths of three students in the same incident.

The case will now be heard together with a previous transfer request in the High Court. Norizan’s lawyer, Mohd Shahir Mat Jusoh, represented her in the hearing.
