OpenAI has released a research preview of its GPT-4.5 model to Pro users and developers, with plans to expand access to ChatGPT Plus and Team users next week, followed by Enterprise and Edu users. GPT-4.5 features improved pattern recognition, enhanced creativity, and greater emotional intelligence. The model also has a reduced hallucination rate of 37.1%, compared to GPT-4's 61.8%. CEO Sam Altman noted that the company faced GPU capacity shortages but plans to add tens of thousands of GPUs next week. GPT-4.5 supports file and image uploads and can assist with writing and coding but does not yet include voice or video features.
