JOHOR BARU — Three members of the Adik Mamat gang, including a Datuk's son, pleaded not guilty to charges of gang robbery, firearm possession, and imitation firearm possession in Johor courts today.
Mohamad Haidar Abdullah, 34, and N. Klement Raj, 38, are accused of robbing Hon Chong Seng of RM3,500, electronics, and personal items. Haidar also faces a separate charge for possessing a Sig Sauer pistol. Both men face gang robbery charges under Section 395 of the Penal Code, carrying up to 20 years in prison.
Another member, Muhammad Zul Syamsi Datuk Johari, 38, was charged with possessing an imitation firearm. The court set April 10 for further hearings and denied bail for the first two accused, while granting RM10,000 bail to Klement and Haidar under certain conditions.
The accused face various penalties, including jail terms, fines, and whipping, if convicted.
