KUALA LUMPUR — Astro Audio has suspended three radio announcers, Nabil Ahmad, Azad Jazmin John Louis Jeffri, and Radin Amir Affendy, following backlash over a video shared on Era FM’s social media. The company is conducting an internal review and has also suspended two other employees.

Astro expressed regret over the incident, apologized for any offense caused, and emphasized its commitment to maintaining a respectful media environment. The announcers have issued a public apology.

The Communications Ministry is investigating the clip, which showed Azad mocking Hindu devotees during Thaipusam. Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo condemned the actions as offensive. The video has been removed, and Astro is cooperating with authorities to ensure compliance with all regulations.
