SEREMBAN: A 40-year-old hairstylist, Sharifah Nurul Ainasaama Syed Omar, pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court on March 4 to charges of assaulting her 31-year-old husband, Muhammad Danial Zafri Zairi, with a knife, dumbbells, and broomstick. She is accused of causing harm with dangerous weapons on February 26 at their home in Taman Iringan Bayu.

The court set bail at RM10,000 with one surety and ordered Sharifah to stay away from her husband, report to the police monthly, and surrender her passport. She claimed her husband assaulted her first, causing her broken leg. The alleged victim suffered lacerations, swelling, and bite marks. The case will be mentioned again on April 14. The charge under Section 324 and 326A carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison, a fine, or whipping.
