BALING: A family in Jalan Kampung Paya, Pulai, had a rude shock when a four-metre King Cobra was spotted at their home yesterday evening.

Baling Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM) officer Mohd Faizol Ab Aziz said they received a distress call about the reptile sighting at around 6.40pm.

He said the caller reported that the snake was first spotted behind the house, caught on the wire fence.

"The snake made a noise before managing to escape to the storage rack area outside the caller's home before hiding.

"The operations team arrived at the location and carried out a thorough inspection. 

"The process of capturing the four-metre reptile weighing about 10kg took 25 minutes, as it had hidden in a narrow gap between storage racks," he said in a statement.
