Something is missing in Malaysian badminton, can BAM fix it?

WHO is to blame for Malaysia's All England debacle? The BA of Malaysia (BAM), the coaches, or the players?

The squad in Birmingham featured both national and independent shuttlers.

While BAM cannot be held accountable for the results of the professionals, most of those in the national set-up fell short.

Malaysia had top-seeded Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai and second-seeded Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei in the mixed doubles, while Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani were the second seeds in the men's doubles, raising expectations of podium finishes. However, as has often been the case, those hopes did not materialise.

The wait for another All England title continues — Malaysia's last triumph came in 2021 when Lee Zii Jia lifted the trophy.

Of course, it is unrealistic to expect shuttlers to dominate every World Tour event unless they are superhuman.
