'Humbled' Zafrul ready to give his best if elected as BAM president

KUALA LUMPUR: Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz has vowed to serve the BA of Malaysia (BAM) "to the best of his abilities" if he is elected as president.

BAM interim president Datuk V. Subramaniam today (March 25) announced that the Investment, Trade and Industry Minister has been nominated for the top post after receiving support from the majority of the national body's council members.

BAM's annual general meeting-cum-elections have been tentatively set for May 10.

Zafrul, in a post on X today (March 25), expressed his gratitude for the nomination.

"I would like to thank BAM for their confidence in nominating me as president of the association. I feel truly humbled and touched by this recognition," said Zafrul.

"As such, I humbly accept the nomination for the presidency. If elected, I will serve BAM and the sport of badminton to the best of my abilities for the supporters of badminton across Malaysia."
