KUALA LUMPUR: Sri Pahang goalkeeper Zarif Irfan Hashimuddin suffered a nasty injury after colliding with Ukrainian teammate Mykola Ahapov durin during training for the Malaysia Cup final against Johor Darul Ta'zim (April 26).
The 30-year-old first choice keeper received five stitches on his right eyebrow and his nose was fractured during the mishap at the Taman Gelora field last Monday.
"The doctor said that the injury will heal quickly, but I need to wear a face mask as a safety precaution.
"I am on medical leave now and I hope to return to team training as soon as possible.
"I want to play in my first Malaysia Cup final."
