KUALA LUMPUR: A 26-year-old man who was allegedly abducted from Skudai, Johor, has been rescued by the police in Cheras here today.

Policemen had to shoot the tyres of the suspects' vehicle when they tried to escape with the victim after being surrounded.

"When the police stopped and ordered the suspects to get out of their vehicle, the driver rammed the police car a few times to try to escape," said Cheras police chief Assistant Commissioner Aidil Bolhassan in a statement today.

The three male suspects, aged between 24 to 30, were immediately arrested after their vehicle was disabled.

Police also said that the men had records for possessing weapons in a riot.
