Travellers heading to Malaysia via Singapore’s Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints on Saturday faced severe delays, with waiting times stretching up to five hours due to heavy traffic. The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) issued an advisory urging motorists to check traffic conditions before travelling.
Congestion at the Second Link extended about 5km toward Tuas, while Causeway-bound travellers were estimated to wait 38 minutes as of 12.45pm, with nearly two-hour waits at the Second Link. The traffic snarl coincided with polling day for Singapore’s 14th General Election, adding to the border rush.
