WASHINGTON — Donald Trump is expected to announce a trade deal with the United Kingdom on Thursday, according to reports by The New York Times and Politico citing unnamed sources.
Trump had earlier teased a “major” agreement with a “highly respected country,” promising details during a 10am press conference at the White House.
While it's unclear if a full deal has been finalized or just a framework is in place, the announcement would follow Trump’s recent tariff moves and push for new bilateral trade agreements.
The UK, meanwhile, has been expanding global trade ties post-Brexit, recently signing a major agreement with India.
