ATHENS — Over 1,000 spectators were enthralled by the Tibetan dance production "Shambhala" at Athens' Christmas Theater on Saturday night.
Directed by acclaimed Chinese artist Wanma Jiansuo, the show masterfully combined traditional Tibetan dance, folk culture, and modern movement to explore themes of life, death, and reincarnation.
The emotional performance ended with roaring applause, as audience members joined the dancers on stage in celebration.
“It was captivating,” said local architect Kalli Mousouraki, attending her first Chinese cultural show. Another attendee, Anastasia Nikolaidis, noted the performance deepened her understanding of Chinese culture.
"Shambhala" represents a spiritual paradise in Tibetan culture. The troupe continues its Greece tour with shows in Thessaloniki on May 14 and 15.
