Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has directed the organizers of Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2025 (Lima '25) to prioritize the empowerment and innovation of local SMEs, aiming to facilitate their entry into international markets. 1 Speaking through his senior press secretary, Tunku Nashrul Abaidah, Anwar emphasized that Lima '25 should serve as a strategic platform for collaboration across government, industry, and education in sectors like defense, commercial aviation (including MRO), IoT, and space tech. He highlighted Malaysia's commitment to becoming a key maritime and aerospace hub, anticipating that Lima '25 will boost economic growth through foreign investment, tourism, and trade. Scheduled for May 20-24, Lima '25 is expected to be a significant event, featuring 102 aircraft (64 in aerial displays) and 35 naval vessels. 2 Anwar, who will attend after his Russia visit (May 13-16), hopes for smooth preparations and a warm welcome to all participants.
