Malaysia’s squash star S. Sivasangari exited the 2024-2025 World Championships after a 1-3 quarter-final loss to American Olivia Weaver in Chicago. Despite a strong showing in the second game, the seventh seed couldn’t match Weaver’s consistency, losing 3-11, 11-8, 4-11, 5-11 in a 41-minute match.
With her defeat, Malaysia is out of the tournament, following Ng Eain Yow’s third-round loss to Egypt’s world No.1 Mostafa Asal earlier this week. Weaver now advances to face Egyptian squash legend and seven-time world champion Nour El Sherbini in the semi-finals.
