Mohamed Salah has come to the defense of Trent Alexander-Arnold, criticizing Liverpool fans as "harsh" for booing the defender during his first appearance since announcing he would leave the club at season’s end.Alexander-Arnold, expected to join Real Madrid when his contract expires in June, was jeered by sections of the Anfield crowd after coming on as a substitute in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal.Salah expressed disappointment in the fans' reaction during a Sky Sports interview, stating:“I was surprised. That’s not who we are as Liverpool fans. Trent gave everything to this club. He deserved better.”With only two games remaining—against Brighton and Crystal Palace—Salah urged fans to give Alexander-Arnold the respectful farewell he deserves.Calling him “one of the best players in the club’s history,” Salah revealed their close bond and acknowledged that Alexander-Arnold wanted a new challenge after years of success with the Reds, including two Premier League titles, a Champions League, and other domestic trophies across 353 appearances.“It will be emotional saying goodbye,” Salah said. “I told him, don’t make eye contact with me during the farewell—I really love him.”
