The federal government dismissed Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi’s accusation of delaying rare earth element (REE) mining guidelines to stall SG4 states.
Minister Nik Nazmi clarified that the SOPs were finalised and shared with all states on December 20, 2023.
He added that states are responsible for implementing the detailed procedures covering technical, environmental, rehabilitation, and export controls.
