Reclamation for Penang’s 930-hectare Silicon Island will take 10 to 15 years, with work divided into two phases—510 hectares in the first and 421 in the second, said state exco Zairil Khir Johari. As of April 30, 60 hectares (6.5%) have been completed since work began in September 2023. The project involves no land acquisition, as it is entirely offshore.
