A 37-year-old Chinese tourist drowned during an unsupervised scuba dive off Sipadan Island, Sabah, on Sunday. Witnessed by his wife, the man entered the water without his instructor, panicked, and disappeared underwater. He was later found unconscious at a depth of 25 meters and briefly responded to CPR before losing consciousness again. He was confirmed dead at Tawau Hospital. The incident is classified as a sudden death, with a post-mortem scheduled.
