The world No. 2 duo aim to claim their first home title and thrill local fans. Despite the strong start, they emphasized the need to improve rotation ahead of facing Taiwan’s Chen Zhi Ray–Lin Yu Chieh in the second round.
Fifth seeds Man Wei Chong–Tee Kai Wun also advanced, edging out India’s Roy Pruthvi–K. Sai Pratheek 21-15, 23-21, while Ong Yew Sin–Teo Ee Yi crashed out after a three-set loss to China’s Liang Wei Keng–Wang Chang.
