KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysia is using AI-powered X-ray screenings at seven primary care centers to enhance early detection of lung diseases under the National Lung Health Initiative 2025-2030. Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad highlighted a case where AI identified early lung cancer in a symptom-free patient, enabling timely surgery. The move was announced during the 78th World Health Assembly, where Malaysia also plans to push for a global Lung Health Resolution to improve access and funding for lung disease treatment.
