KUCHING — Sarawak will send a delegation to Thailand during the 2025 SEA Games to observe event operations in preparation for co-hosting the 2027 edition.
State Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the visit will help ensure world-class delivery in 2027, with Kuching aiming to become a regional sports hub.
Sarawak plans to host 18 sports, including swimming, taekwondo, and archery, and is upgrading 87 sports facilities statewide. The state is also focusing on 14 medal-potential sports to boost performance and athlete development.
