LONDON — Pep Guardiola acknowledged Manchester City is “miles away” from Liverpool after finishing third and ending their eight-year trophy streak.
City secured Champions League qualification but lagged 13 points behind Liverpool. Guardiola said he can’t promise a Premier League title challenge next season, citing fatigue from a busy schedule and squad changes like Kevin De Bruyne’s exit.
While expecting improvement, he stressed the team must raise their level to compete for trophies again. Guardiola also ruled out a major squad overhaul despite some players likely leaving.
