JERUSALEM/CAIRO — A US-backed group has started delivering food aid to Gaza after months of delay, but fierce Israeli strikes continue, including a deadly attack on a school sheltering dozens of Palestinians.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation confirmed aid distribution began Monday, promising more trucks and increased deliveries in coming days. However, the UN has criticized the aid plan as inadequate.

Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 45 people, including 30 sheltering in the school targeted for allegedly housing militants—a claim Israel says justifies the attack. Survivors say there is nowhere safe in Gaza.

Efforts for a ceasefire face setbacks, with the US and Hamas disputing truce terms. The ongoing conflict has caused massive civilian casualties and a humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where millions face hunger and displacement.
