KUALA LUMPUR — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim hailed the first-ever Asean-GCC-China Summit as the start of a new chapter in regional economic cooperation. In his speech at a gala dinner for summit leaders, Anwar praised the Gulf region as a fast-growing, tech-driven economy and reaffirmed Asean’s strong ties with China.
He called the summit a “meeting of minds” committed to independence, democracy, and shared prosperity through trade and investment. Anwar expressed gratitude for the presence of Kuwait’s Crown Prince and Chinese Premier Li Qiang, emphasizing mutual trust and enduring partnerships as the foundation for future collaboration.
