KUALA LUMPUR — Asean leaders, including Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, signed the Kuala Lumpur Declaration during the 46th Asean Summit, unveiling “Asean 2045: Our Shared Future.” This new 20-year roadmap replaces Asean 2025 and outlines a vision for a resilient, innovative, dynamic, and people-centred region.
The plan is built around four pillars: political security, economic growth, socio-cultural unity, and connectivity. It focuses on promoting peace, innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity, aiming to position Asean as a global leader.
Key priorities include digital transformation, green economy, youth empowerment, and stronger regional institutions. The long-term framework offers a clear path for future growth, integration, and cooperation amid global changes.
