SEREMBAN — A Negeri Sembilan Youth and Sports Department officer, Rosdi Pilus, 50, pleaded not guilty to two charges of abusing his position to award RM25,000 worth of contracts to his wife’s company in 2021 and 2022.
He allegedly processed a payment of RM19,990 for accommodation and catering for a packaging and labelling course, and another RM5,000 for services for the 2022 National Sports Day — both awarded to Maar Diversified Enterprise, owned by his 51-year-old wife.
The offences allegedly took place at the department on November 18, 2021, and February 23, 2022. He is charged under Section 23(1) of the MACC Act 2009, which carries up to 20 years in prison and heavy fines upon conviction.
The court set bail at RM5,000 with one surety and scheduled the next mention for July 7.
