A traffic policeman, Wan Shazrul Wan Shamsuddin, 47, pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court in Mersing today to accepting a RM1,000 bribe on December 13, 2023. He is accused of taking the money to hand over accident-related documents. Charged under the MACC Act 2009, he faces a potential 20-year jail term and a hefty fine. The court granted him bail at RM5,000 with conditions to report monthly to the Johor MACC and surrender his passport. The next court mention is set for July 8.
