Backed by coach Ajaz Azmat and mentored by Gregory Gaultier, she’s expected to face Japan’s Satomi Watanabe in round three and Egypt’s Amina Orfi in the quarters.
In the men’s draw, Ng Eain Yow (No. 12) will face France’s Victor Crouin in round two, eyeing a possible quarter-final clash with world No. 5 Joel Makin.
