Kuching police have confirmed that a fatal accident involving a Lamborghini on Jalan Airport was not a hit-and-run. The 54-year-old driver, a businessman, reported the incident within an hour, as required.
The victim, 52-year-old Chinese national Bi Guang Dong, a worker on the ART lane project, died at the scene after being hit while crossing the road. The driver has been arrested and is under investigation for reckless driving causing death under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which carries a jail term of 5–10 years and a fine.
