Singapore’s Education Minister Desmond Lee has been appointed as the new chairman of the ruling People’s Action Party (PAP), taking over from former Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, who retired from politics.
The PAP expressed gratitude for Heng’s leadership and wished him well in retirement. The party also appointed Ong Ye Kung as treasurer, Chee Hong Tat as assistant treasurer, and welcomed Dr Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim as a new CEC member and Malay Affairs Bureau chairperson.
