KUALA LUMPUR: Armed forces veterans and civil service retirees are demanding an immediate resolution to the long-standing issue of pension adjustments.
Rafique Ali Ahmad Nordin, a representative of the Coalition of Armed Forces Veterans and Civil Service Pensioners, said hundreds of retirees have yet to receive the appropriate pension adjustments as mandated by legal provisions and court rulings.
"Although we have dedicated our sacrifices and service to the nation in various fields such as defence, security, education, healthcare and administration among others, we have yet to receive our pension adjustments.
"What's even more disappointing is that former judges have reportedly received their full pension adjustments along with back payments, while thousands of other retirees remain in uncertainty," he said during a peaceful gathering at Dataran Merdeka today.
