SINGAPORE — Malaysia’s men’s doubles duo Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik clinched the Singapore Open title, their third win this year after triumphs at the Badminton Asia Championships and Thailand Open. They overcame South Korea’s Kim Won Ho and Seo Seung Jae in a thrilling three-set match.
The pair credited their coach, Herry Iman Pierngadi, for improving their attacking play and boosting their confidence since joining three months ago. Looking ahead, they aim to continue their success at the upcoming Indonesia Open.
This victory marks Malaysia’s first men’s doubles win in Singapore since 2008.
