PARIS— Iga Swiatek staged a stunning comeback to defeat clay rival Elena Rybakina and reach the French Open quarter-finals, keeping her bid for a fourth straight Roland Garros title alive. After trailing 6-1, 2-0, the fifth seed found her rhythm to win 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 and will next face Elina Svitolina.

On the men’s side, defending champion Carlos Alcaraz overcame a tough four-set battle against Ben Shelton, marking his 100th clay court win and booking a quarter-final clash with Tommy Paul. Paul made history as the first American man to reach the French Open quarters since Andre Agassi in 2003.

Aryna Sabalenka and Zheng Qinwen also advanced, with Sabalenka becoming the first woman since Serena Williams to reach 10 consecutive Grand Slam quarter-finals.
