Two people were killed and 12 others injured in a collision involving three vehicles at Jalan Machang-Pasir Puteh, near Kampung Banggol Judah in Kelantan late last night.

The crash occurred at 11.15pm, claiming the lives of Zulkifli Salleh, 54, who died at the scene, and Zakquan Abdullah, 12, who succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.Operation commander Suhaimi Razali, from the Machang fire and rescue station, said both victims were in a Proton Waja together with four women, Sinar Harian reported.“The accident involved three vehicles, a Chevrolet pickup truck, a Perodua Kancil, and a Proton Waja. One of the cars is believed to have been coming from the opposite direction,” he was quoted as saying.

“The man who died was trapped in the vehicle and we had to extricate him.”Suhaimi said the injured included two women and three men in the pickup truck, as well as a man and two children, aged four and seven, who were in the Kancil.Machang police chief Ahmad Shafiki Hussin confirmed that a report had been lodged over the incident.
