Malaysia’s women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah fell short in the Singapore Open quarter-finals, losing 21-14, 22-24, 14-21 to China’s Jia Yi Fan and Zhang Shu Xian. Despite holding two match points in the second game, the world No. 4 duo couldn’t close it out, marking their third loss in four meetings against the Chinese pair. In men’s doubles, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik avenged last week’s Malaysia Masters final defeat by beating compatriots Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun 22-20, 21-17 in just 33 minutes. They now face India’s Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy in the semi-finals.Elsewhere, top seeds Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin, mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai, and men’s singles player Leong Jun Hao all exited in the quarter-finals.
