Malaysian para badminton star Cheah Liek Hou expressed pride and gratitude after receiving the prestigious Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN) award from His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim during the King’s official birthday celebration at Istana Negara.
Calling it a rare and meaningful honour, Cheah said the award reflects the recognition of his achievements in bringing glory to Malaysia on the global stage. He noted that such honours aren’t easily given, making it a significant milestone in his career.
Cheah, a two-time Paralympic gold medallist in the SU5 category (Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024) and 14-time world champion, was among 14 recipients of the KMN award. Currently recovering from a leg injury, the 37-year-old aims to return to competition next year.
