LONDON — Sheffield Wednesday and its owner, Thai businessman Dejphon Chansiri, have been charged by the English Football League (EFL) for failing to pay players’ wages on time in March and May 2025.
The club, already under registration embargoes and previous point deductions for financial breaches, now faces fresh sanctions. Chansiri apologized and promised to resolve outstanding May salaries soon.
Both the club and owner have 14 days to respond. Sheffield Wednesday finished 12th in the Championship last season.
