Suriya's long-awaited mega-budget film Karna, originally set to be produced by a major Bollywood studio, might now be taken over by Jio Studios, according to recent reports.

Announced two years ago, the film features Suriya in the titular role of Karna, with Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead and Rakesh Omprakash Mehra as director. While updates had gone quiet for some time, the project’s early groundwork is reportedly back on track, and an official announcement is expected soon.

Meanwhile, Suriya is busy with Suriya 45 directed by RJ Balaji, followed by projects with directors Venky Atluri and Vetrimaaran (Vaadivaasal). Filming for Karna is likely to begin once these films are completed.
